“It’s what you have always wanted to accomplish. Everyone, when they are young, knows what their Personal Legend is. “At that point in their lives, everything is clear and everything is possible. They are not afraid to dream, and to yearn for everything they would like to see happen to them in their lives. But, as time passes, a mysterious force begins to convince them that it will be impossible for them to realize their Personal Legend.”

 Paulo Coelho – The Alchemist

I’m sorry, you know. I feel like I’ve always been apologizing, but each time I did, I meant it. It’s not that I want to be sorry all the time. But hindsight is a funny thing.

Firstly, I want to say that everything that we had planned is still possible. And we can still do it.

Secondly, I want to say that I’m sorry for being so quick to discard you, thinking that you were the reason we couldn’t move forward. I didn’t know it had nothing to do with you, with us.

Because of deception, manipulation and things beyond my control, I thought you were the common denominator of my troubles.  But that’s the language of someone without understanding of the mysteries of the world. Those are the words of a person who only walks according to what they see; they’re blind to the influence of a world more real than the one they occupy.

I’m sorry for not having understanding, but I finally get it.

At last, the truth that has always been in front of me could not be hidden, could not be subdued.

I miss you.

I miss you being carefree and unbothered. I miss your presence, your focus. I miss your joy, I miss your dreams and your desire to achieve. I miss that you saw great things and believed and it was a reality for you already before you even held it. I miss your intelligence, your astuteness, your sharpness, your confidence.

Forgive me. I didn’t know any of this that we recently found out. But things will get better from now on. We’ve made it out of that fire, and beautiful things are ahead of us. What you and I used to dream about is more than just possible; not only that, but even better things than we could imagine.

Come back.

Let’s start over. Let’s dream again, let’s plan again, let’s start again.

Let’s get what we said we would back then. Let’s let go of the past, of the mistakes, of the delays, of the sadness, of the fear, of the anxiety and let’s start again. We’ve both learned to let go; but let’s now learn to pick up, to keep, to protect, to be steadfast, immovable.

Let’s pursue our dreams, let’s do the work.

I’m ready.

Let’s build trust between us again. Let’s move how we choose to, prayerfully seeking God for each step of course. But let’s do the work.

Life is very strange. Sometimes it takes you full circle to the beginning; God’s grace allows you to do right what should have been done right the first time. But now you have wisdom, now you have strength, now you have confidence.

With this in mind, let’s change, you and I. Let’s wipe the slate clean—no stumbling blocks of the past, of what didn’t work, of what occurred before, of what was taken. Let’s start fresh, and let’s conquer the remaining days ahead of us. We are more than capable and able and I am looking forward to doing what we have to.

Let’s change. Let’s put off this self, fortified with fears of the past, and worries and uncertainties that are easily deceived and manipulated by others, and put on courage, and boldness, hope, and expectancy. Let’s change our hair; let’s change our clothes. Let’s change everything. Let’s take possession of the remainder of the year, and command the remaining days.

You once believed you could do anything. Bring that belief back and let’s do everything. I’m willing, if you’re willing.

So, let’s do it.
