Sometimes, your fervent feelings and emotions build in you an expectation to possess something that your Spirit was not assigned - Chapter 1, Hindsight
This isn’t the same as pursuing something that you know is for you and you’re overcoming hurdles. This is essentially pursing something but you ought to be doing something different.
Sometimes we spend years putting too much effort in the wrong direction. Part of the battle of life is finding our God-given purpose, answering the question: Where am I assigned to serve?
Some of us it takes a large chunk of years to come to this discovery, and the in-between years may feel purposeless, wasted and cumbersome.
But whether you are in that boat, discovering, or you’ve found your path and are walking in it, I am learning to ask myself: is this what I want or what someone else thinks I should want for my life? Am I doing what God is calling me to do or what I think my family, friends, or society things I should do? What have I learned in the in-between years? I know where my feelings want me to be, but is that where my purpose is? Is that where I am supposed to serve?
