I understand what you may have seen but did not understand.
I comprehend what you saw but could not make sense of.
I wanted you to hide me; hide me from this creeping shadow that for years was chasing me
And I laid out my expectations and you said I was too much
Expected too much
Wanted too much
And I threw you my sword and watched as you watched it fall, hesitating to catch it
There is no trust, no faith, no honesty in men; all perjured, all forsworn, all naught, all dissemblers-|Shakespeare|

And I laid out my expectations and you said I was too much
Expected too much
Wanted too much
And I threw you my sword and watched as you watched it fall, hesitating to catch it
Multiple excuses tumbling from your lips
And I thought time would make you strong because this shadow was not letting up
And so I came to you for the final time
And you left me out the cold for the final time
I picked up my sword and remembered I can put a thousand to flight
With God I can scale any wall.
And I scaled the wall and found a soldier
But in his wounds he wounded me
In his hurt he betrayed me
But still I must raise my sword.
Yeah, you’ve shown me a critical thing

Yeah, you’ve shown me a critical thing
I’m more than able to stand strong on my own
This is not a battle for the weak or the uncertain.
It is for the one who is able to train with me
Stand in the trenches and battle alongside me
Ready to give up everything.
